‘Have-Some-More’ Heritage Day Chicken

Chicken on the braai is a tough one to beat!

Enjoy this tremendously tasty marinaded chicken this Heritage Day.



1.5 kg chicken pieces

1/2 c olive oil
1/2 c balsamic vinegar
1/4 c soy sauce
1/8 c lemon juice
1/2 c brown sugar
2 tsp dried rosemary
2 tbsp german mustard
1 tsp salt
1 tsp white pepper
1 tsp garlic flakes




‘Have-Some-More’ Heritage Day Chicken – Method

  • The day before, mix the marinade ingredients and place the chicken pieces in a sealable container/zip lock bag and pour the marinade in. Make sure the chicken is nicely covered and seal the container. I like to give it a shake through the evening to make sure the marinade is getting everywhere. Leave it marinating in the fridge until the next day.

Pack 14  briquettes onto the coal grid inside your PotjieKing. Place a couple of firelighters in the bottom section and get that going. When the briquettes are ready, place your chicken on the braai en laat waai!
